Hand-Brain Model A4 Display Poster
‘Hand-Brain Model Poster’ has been designed to support children and young people with what we mean by ‘flipping our lid’. It is inspired by Dr. Dan Siegel, a clinical psychiatrist.
This resource utilises a simplistic hand-model of the brain. This is a very simple representation but one that can be used to support children and young people with exploring feeling regulated vs. feeling dysregulated.

- To support emotional literacy and understanding.
- To support self-regulation.
- To support a child 1:1.
- To be used as part of a classroom display.

- KS1: H18 – different things they can do to manage big feelings, to help calm themselves down and/or change their mood when they don’t feel good.
- KS2: H20 – how to manage and respond to feelings appropriately and proportionately in different situations.
