'How does sleep help my Body and Mind?' KS2 Sorting Activity
This sorting activity encourages children to consider how sleep affects both our mental and physical health.
Cut out the facts below and stick them in the correct boxes. You need to decide if the sleep fact helps our mind (our brain and mental health) or if it helps our body and its functions.

- To support understanding of how sleep impacts on our body and mind.
- To promote healthy sleep hygiene routines and daily practice.
- To understand the benefits of sleep and how it affects our mood not just our physical health.

- KS1: H17. about things that help people feel good (e.g. playing outside, doing things they enjoy, spending time with family, getting enough sleep).
- KS2: H16. about strategies and behaviours that support mental health — including how good quality sleep, physical exercise/time outdoors, being involved in community groups, doing things for others, clubs, and activities, hobbies and spending time with family and friends can support mental health and wellbeing.
