Creating a 'Connection Contract' or 'Team Agreement': Class Rules Activity (Mini Lesson)

‘Creating a Connection Contract or Team Agreement’ is a mini lesson to help you to set classroom norms and expectations for the year ahead whilst remaining child-led and child focused.
This Mini Lesson has been designed for you to pick up and go with minimal resources and time needed to complete the activity. The information sheet also includes step-by-step instructions on how to carry out the activity.
How could this resource be used?
- To support children to build a relationship and positive bond with their new class teacher and each other.
- To encourage children to feel part of a new classroom climate and community.
- To support with routines and class rules for improving classroom management throughout the school year and ensuring that all children feel safe and secure in the classroom.
- To allow children to have a say in how their classroom is run and how the culture is formed moving forwards.
- Promoting choice and democracy within the classroom enviroment through a child-led activity.
